Building 13 Environmental Graphic Design & Wayfinding System

The old art building at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona needed environmental graphics and a wayfinding system to transform the building into a vibrant and sustainable center that allowed its visitors to move through with ease. Using natural materials, a directory, interior and exterior graphics, and a symbol system were created to reflect Cal Poly's push towards sustainability and the art department's dynamism in art and design. The result was a remodeled building complete with wood accents, walls filled with color and design, and a wayfinding system that differentiated the first floor from the second, allowing visitors to navigate through the building with less confusion.
